Indoor Air Quality

Recently, there’s been a lot of talk about indoor air quality.

According to the EPA, most homes have airborne concentrations of hazardous and toxic chemicals that are two to five times higher indoors than outdoors.  In one five-year study, the EPA reported that a number of homes had chemical levels that were seventy times higher inside the homes than outside.  In addition, the average home generates over 25 pounds of toxic, hazardous waste each year, much of it due to household cleaning products.

According to a 15-year study presented at the Toronto Indoor Air Conference, women who work at home have a 54% higher death rate from cancer than those who work away from home. The study concluded that this was a direct result of increased exposure to toxic chemicals, many of which are found in common household products.

Additionally, 9 out of 10 suspected poison exposures that occur at home are a caused by household products.

By switching to nontoxic, environmentally-friendly household cleaning, laundry and kitchen products, you can improve the safety of your home or businesses and help protect the earth.
