FAQ!
Every Green Living Expo offers the businesses who exhibit an opportunity to meet
and educate thousands of attendees. We encourage you to sell products,
distribute information and educate the public about reducing their carbon
footprint and supporting a healthy lifestyle.
How many people will attend the Green
Living Expo?
This is one of the hardest questions to
answer. Each Expo has a different marketing area and a distinct
population. As a general rule we prepare every expo to accommodate
between 3000 and 5000 attendees. We call them Eco-Sapians™ and while we
can not guarantee any specific amount of Eco-Sapians™ will attend any
given event, we do have a 25 year history of quality trade shows and
every Expo is preceded by an extensive marketing campaign to insure the
highest possible attendance. 2008 has seen a marked decrease in the
number of people attending all shows. Everything from Home Shows, to
Bridal Shows are reporting attendance figures bellow prior years, that's
why it's important to reach out to attendees and present your product or
concept. The one great feature of every Green Living Expo is that we
generate a very affluent and interested prospect. The Eco-Sapians™ who
attend our events are serious about going green.
What will I find at the Green Living
Expo?
The Green Living Expo features a mix of all
types of green related businesses from green building and remodeling
displays, to natural products and healthy living. the show is broken
into nine major zones. Within those zones you find a broad
mix of services to help you discover services and products that will
help you go green! The categories are:
What is an Eco-Sapian™?
An Eco-Sapian™ is the trade-marked word we
use to describe the people who attend each Green Living Expo. Our
definition of an Eco-Sapian™ is, "A human that wants a better life by
caring for the planet". We feel that Eco-Sapian™ truly describes the
people who attend our events. We offer a full line of Eco-Sapian™ gear
from organic tee-shirts and hats, to license plate frames and
promotional items. In fact, on of the most entertaining part of our
radio show, The Green Living Hour, is when people call in to earn an
Eco-Sapian™ tee-shirt.
What is the demographic make-up of the
Eco-Sapians at The Green Living Expo?
Each of the green living zones described
above has been created to draw a distinct segment of the population. For
example, many shows concentrate solely on green building and offer
hundreds of displays centered on that and while that's a great
individual to draw to the event, we wanted to insure that a broad range
of Eco-Sapian™s attended looking for many different types of services. If
you look at the zones in total, you will find that they draw from
virtually every part of the population thereby insuring that we have a
wide range of people attend from many different backgrounds with many
different needs.
What is the admission fee?
Admission to The Green Living Expo is
free.
Is there a fee for parking?
Parking fees vary with every location
that hosts a Green Living Expo. Some locations are free but for the most
part you should plan on a fee of between $4 and $6 for parking. As
producers of the event we do not control the parking or parking fees.
When there is a fee it applies to both the exhibitors and those who
attend the event.
Some locations like The Blaisdell
Center
in Honolulu have a parking fee for their parking lot but also have a
significant quantity of free parking on the streets around the location.
What is the seminar schedule?
At each Green Living Expo we have a full
line-up of educational seminars featuring some of the most influential
people and services in the known green world. We post complete seminar
schedules for each event two weeks prior to the Green Living Expo
Who will be speaking at the seminars?
Seminar speakers are selected from those
businesses that participate in The Green Living Expo. Each seminar
speaker is selected based on the content of their information and the
timeliness of the topic. What all seminar speakers have in common is
their intense desire to help educate about the green movement.
Is there music at the Green Living Expo?
Each Green Living Expo features a center
stage with a complete line-up of entertainment throughout the event. For
a complete schedule of entertainment, select your show of interest from
the home page.
Is there a deadline for booth
participation?
While we do not have a formal deadline
for participation, we rarely have display spaces available for rent
within 30 days of each event. Corner and prime booth positions are
typically completely reserved three to four months prior to each event.
We rent booth space on a first come, first serve basis.
Can I hold a booth until I
decide to participate?
We will gladly reserve a spot in the show
for your organization for up to three working days should you need us to
do so. However, we can not hold specific booth locations without a
completed agreement and initial booth investment.
Can I conduct a seminar?
Seminar speakers are selected from those
businesses that participate in The Green Living Expo so we welcome your
participation. The fee for conducting a seminar is $95 and helps defray
the cost of the seminar area. Please contact your account representative
for more details regarding a seminar. We require a seminar application
that describes your particular seminar. Once we receive the Seminar
Application our seminar committee will review it and decide if the
seminar will work with the Green Living Expo you are participation in.
Can I teach a seminar without being a
booth participant?
We require that every seminar teacher be
an exhibitor in the event they are teaching at.
Is The Green Living Expo indoors or
outdoors?
Both, the booth displays are always
located in an in-door facility. However, we do have both an Eco-Car
display and a Recycling area outside each exhibit location.
How many exhibitors are at The Green
Living Expo?
The number of display spaces is dependant
upon the specific location. All of our events have a minimum of 100
exhibits and most have over 200 exhibits. For specifics on any given
event simply go to the Green Living Expo home page and select the event
you are interested in. We list quantity of exhibits on each show page.
How can I see what booths are currently
available?
Simply contact our staff at
888-678-2008
and they can send a layout of the event showing available spaces. The
booth availability layout changes virtually every day. It's important
that if you want a specific booth you work with your staff
representative and return all the needed paperwork and payment.
Can I be listed on your web
page?
Once you have reserved a
display space in the Green Living Expo we will be happy to post a link
from our web page to yours. We also would appreciate a link from your
page to ours. Please send link artwork as follows: A Gif file no larger
than 160 pixels wide x 75 pixels high. You can cut the link bellow to
use on your web site. Please be sure that the link leads to
www.TheGreenLivingExpo.com, not this FAQ page.
What is the display
space size?
Your display space is
an area either 10’ x 10’ or 10’ x 20’ or larger depending on the size
you reserved. Each booth has a drape backdrop which is 8’ high and
side rails that run from the back of the display, to the front
and are 3’ high.
The backdrop is not
strong enough to hold heavy displays hanging from it. You can secure a
banner to the back of your display. We have special hooks that can be
used to hang your banner without pinning to the drape. We do not charge
for the Sign Hooks, simply ask one of our staff members for them during
move-in. Please return them on move-out. Your display space rental does
not include any tables or chairs. Be sure to either bring what you need,
or rent them from our set-up company.
For your convenience we
have agreed to accept all equipment orders and transmit them to the
setup company. You can reserve the equipment you need at:
thegreenlivingexpo.com/equipment.htm
What can I do to enhance
my success at the event?
For a Green Show to
work for you, a key to success is in the planning.
Ask
the question, Why am I exhibiting? Is it to:
1. Make
Appointments - Increase Business - Make Sales
2. Show a new
product or service. Educate them on the importance of your products.
3. Meet a potential customer face-to-face.
Also be sure to have an
established goal prior to the show. Without a goal it’s hard to know if
the show was successful for you or not. It’s also important that the
goal be realistic and achievable.
Are there show
promotion opportunities?
We do have a limited
number of special promotional opportunities available for each event. We
have several sponsorship packages that will help you achieve significant
exposure as well as some
wonderful radio opportunities to highlight your product.
Even without a sponsorship
you can help us insure a successful show by helping with promotion.
1. Invite customers you
are currently working with to the event.
2. Mail invitations or postcards to customers you may have, to promote
your booth.
3. Create a booth design
that is unique and eye catching to stand out from the rest.
4. Follow-up with the
customers you met after the show. Remember, collect everyone’s contact
information!
How many staff
should be at the booth?
1. Two-Three
people per 10X10 Space is recommended.
2. Have bathroom
and lunch breaks organized so someone is always in the booth.
3. Have water
available for staff.
4. Give staff a
chance to walk around and see the show, to beat fatigue.
5. Make sure everyone is
well rested, and plan to eat a hearty breakfast for the long day.
